The Capitals alternate captain has five goals in four games to open the season.

The Washington Capitals should be well-represented at the 2024 NHL 4 Nations Face-Off, as Tom Wilson is expected to make Team Canada.

Per Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, Wilson is a leading candidate to make his country’s roster for the inaugural tournament.

Wilson is off to a red-hot start to the 2024-25 regular season with five goals in four games so far for the Capitals. The 30-year-old has struck in each game for D.C. so far while skating on a dominant second line with Connor McMichael and Pierre-Luc Dubois.

“He’s feeling it right now… hottest player in the league,” captain Alex Ovechkin said of Wilson.
