    The Capitals winger is an active member of the D.C. community.

    The Washington Capitals have named Tom Wilson as their nominee for the NHL's 2024 King Clancy Memorial Trophy.

    The King Clancy is awarded annually "to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community."

    Wilson is an active member of the D.C. community and is involved with multiple player programs.

    Since 2018, Wilson has provided tickets and hosted families affiliated with Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic and United Heroes League through his program, Forty Three's Friends.

    Wilson is also a member of So Kids Can, along with teammates Nicklas Backstrom and Martin Fehervary, and he is an ambassador and volunteer for Wolf Trap Animal Rescue.

    The 29-year-old recently won the Washington Capitals' inaugural Caps Care Community Award in honor of his efforts and work int he community.
