WASHINGTON – The Washington Capitals saw Trevor van Riemsdyk leave Sunday's preseason opener against the Buffalo Sabres in the third period after suffering an apparent injury.
Van Riemsdyk blocked a shot with his right arm on a penalty kill in the third, shortly after Zach Benson scored the go-ahead goal. He immediately went down the tunnel and has not returned.
