Here's the latest on the injured Capitals.

ARLINGTON, V.A. — As the Washington Capitals got back to work on Monday, they saw quite a few injured players take the ice, while also getting a handful of updates on their lengthy injured list.

Washington saw Joel Edmundson and Trevor van Riemsdyk take big steps forward, as both joined the team for the full practice while sporting non-contact jerseys. It marked the first time Edmundson has skated with the group since breaking his hand in training camp.

Head coach Spencer Carbery said that it's a step in the right direction for both blueliners, but that van Riemsdyk is closer to returning than Edmundson.

"Edmundson's gonna be a little bit longer," Carbery said. "TVR is moving along and skating. Both of them practiced, but like I said, Eddy's going to take a few more practices to get tup and running but TVR is a little bit closer."

Meanwhile, Martin Fehervary, who is on the injured reserve with a lower-body injury suffered on Friday against the New Jersey Devils, was at the facility but did not skate. He will miss Tuesday's game against the Vegas Golden Knights, but Carbery said he could potentially return to the lineup on Saturday against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Beyond the blue line, Washington is also ailing up front.

Anthony Mantha took the ice in a non-contact jersey for some work ahead of practice, but did not stay on with the group. The 29-year-old, who was struck in the face by a puck on Wednesday, remains on the injured reserve with what the team is calling an "upper-body injury."

T.J. Oshie took a maintenance day and missed practice, but should be available for Tuesday's tilt against Vegas.

In addition, Max Pacioretty continues to make progress and skated on his own again on Monday before practice. He still has a long road, but is starting to ramp things up as he works his way back from his second torn Achilles in a span of five months.

Finally, in goal, the Capitals saw three goaltenders take the ice for Monday's skate. Darcy Kuemper, who missed the weekend's back-to-back with an undisclosed injury, was a full participant in practice, along with Charlie Lindgren and Hunter Shepard.

It's unclear if Kuemper will be ready to go for Tuesday.
