The Washington Capitals will look to complete the sweep against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday, and they'll have some familiar faces back in the lineup, too.
Beck Malenstyn and Joel Edmundson are both set to draw back in after missing Thursday's game, head coach Spencer Carbery told reporters in St. Louis.
Malenstyn was out on Thursday as he and his wife welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Beau. Meanwhile, Edmundson was dealing with an upper-body injury.
Getting both back in the lineup will be a boost, as Malenstyn is a top penalty killer and brings grit and speed to the identity fourth line, while Edmundson provides a veteran presence and physicality on the backend.
With Malesntyn returning, Hendrix Lapierre will draw back out of the lineup. It's unclear who will draw out on defense for Edmundson.
Charlie Lindgren, who stopped 18 of 20 in Washington's 5-2 win over the Blues back on Thursday, will get the start. He has started four of the last five contests.
Both Rasmus Sandin and Sonny Milano remain on the injured reserve and it looks like both will remain out of the mix for D.C. with upper-body injuries. Sandin will miss his eighth consecutive contest, while Milano will be sidelined for the 20th straight contest.
Puck drop is at 8 p.m. ET at Enterprise Center. Washington remains two points out of a playoff spot and is looking to remain in the hunt while closing things out on a high note ahead of the All-Star Break.
