ANNAPOLIS, M.D. — The Washington Capitals got a taste of life for the Midshipmen, as they headed to the U.S. Naval Academy for the final three days of their annual rookie camp.

There were quite a few standouts at the camp, as Hendrix Lapierre and Vincent Iorio took on bigger leadership roles and separated themselves while Ivan MIroshnichenko impressed with his elite shot and skating and Alexander Suzdalev showed major growth.

Other impressive players include 2023 seventh-rounder Brett Hyland, who was one of the strongest skaters and proved to be a speedy and strong two-way player going into camp. Bogdan Trineyev was also a noticeable presence and used his size and speed to his advantage, while Jake Karabela also made his mark.

As for the goalies, Antoine Keller showed what he could do, while roommates Clay Stevenson and Mitchell Gibson proved to be the leaders of the group. Garin Bjorklund, almost a year removed from major back surgery, was putting on a show and making some big saves and showing poise and confidence in the crease.
