The Washington Capitals are reportedly keeping Spencer Carbery on board for the long haul.
Per The Fourth Period's Dave Pagnotta, Washington and Carbery have agreed to terms on a multi-year extension. At this time, there's no word on term or salary.
Carbery replaced Peter Laviolette as the Capitals head coach back in 2023 and has been behind the bench for the last three seasons. In 2024-25, he led the Capitals to a first-place finish in the Eastern Conference, which won him the Jack Adams Trophy, and has helped Washington to the playoffs in two of three years as head coach.
Through 246 regular-season games, Carbery has registered a combined record of 134-83-29 for a .604 points percentage.
