Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson is in good company up in Calgary, as he's one of 92 NHL, women's and Para hockey players attending Team Canada's Orientation Camp in preparation of the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Wilson, a native of Toronto, posed with Nathan MacKinnon, Mitch Marner, Brad Marchand, John Tavares and Sam Reinhart and is taking part in the three-day camp, which is a first step toward making the team for the upcoming games in Milan in February.
Wilson's journey toward the Olympics comes after years of improvement and growth. He is coming off a career year with Washington, where he had 33 goals and 32 assists, along with 100 penalty minutes, for 65 points in 81 games. He then added seven points in 10 playoff games.
"Being here with the women's team, the Para team, you just get the feeling of being part of something that's bigger than just your club team... it unites the country," Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid, one of the first six skaters named to Canada's roster, told reporters.
