Here's everything to know as the Capitals take things on the road for the first time this season.

The Washington Capitals will be on the road for the first time on Saturday and in for a tough contest, as they take on the New Jersey Devils in a rematch from what ended up being a rusty season opener for D.C.

Here's everything to know before puck drop at 7 p.m. ET at Prudential Center.

    Washington Capitals Line Combinations

Logan Thompson will return to the crease and make his second start of the season, as he and Charlie Lindgren alternate to kick off the campaign.

Other than that, head coach Spencer Carbery is likely to stick with what's worked the last two games given the Capitals' offense and success in shutting down those top Western Conference opponents.

    Here are the line combinations:

    Aliaksei Protas-Dylan Strome-Alex Ovechkin

    Connor McMichael-Pierre-Luc Dubois-Tom Wilson

    Jakub Vrana-Hendrix Lapierre-Andrew Mangiapane

    Brandon Duhaime-Nic Dowd-Taylor Raddysh

    Jakob Chychrun-John Carlson

    Martin Fehervary-Dylan McIlrath

    Rasmus Sandin-Trevor van Riemsdyk

    Logan Thompson

    Charlie Lindgren

    Washington Capitals Stats To Know

    - Tom Wilson is red-hot and has goals in three straight games to open the 2024-25 regular season. With another tally on Saturday, he could tie Alex Ovechkin for the longest scoring streak to start the year in franchise history.

    - Dylan Strome and John Carlson are both on three-game point streaks.

    - Aliaksei Protas has points in back-to-back games.

Washington Capitals Players & Storylines To Watch

    - Speaking of Protas, he's been a major threat for the Capitals, especially shorthanded. Look for him to continue impressing on that top line.

    - Pierre-Luc Dubois has also been impressing Washington to open his tenure with his new team, as he has two assists in three games while impressing with his skating, stickhandling and hockey IQ.

    - Alex Ovechkin is still looking for his first goal of the season, which would also be the 854th goal of his career as he continues his pursuit of Wayne Gretzky. He's done quite a bit of damage against the Devils in his career with 41 goals and 46 assists for 87 points in 77 total games against New Jersey.

    - Taylor Raddysh got his first goal as a Capital last game, which stood as the game-winner, and his fourth line with Nic Dowd and Brandon Duhaime continues to be a threat. They lit it up against the Devils in the preseason, so look for them to be dangerous again on Saturday.

    - Connor McMichael's another player to keep an eye on. His start to the season has been solid, as he's been forechecking hard, getting the puck to high-danger areas and making smart plays at both ends of the ice.
