It’s been a busy week for the Washington Capitals, who have rediscovered their offense with Alex Ovechkin still on the shelf. And after two comeback wins, they’re looking for another victory in New Jersey against the Devils.
Here’s everything to know before puck drop at 7 p.m. ET at Prudential Center.
The lines will see a bit of change following team’s Black Friday victory just a day before. Charlie Lindgren will get the start in goal.
Here are the combinations for Saturday’s contest in Newark:
Connor McMichael-Dylan Strome-Tom Wilson
Aliaksei Protas-Pierre-Luc Dubois-Taylor Raddysh
Hendrix Lapierre-Lars Eller-Andrew Mangiapane
Brandon Duhaime-Nic Dowd-Ivan Miroshnichenko
Martin Fehervary-John Carlson
Jakob Chychrun-Trevor van Riemsdyk
Rasmus Sandin-Matt Roy
Charlie Lindgren
Logan Thompson
- Tom Wilson has goals in back-to-back games and points in four of his last five outings.
- Dylan Strome is coming off another multi-point performance and has eight points in his last six games. He hasn't gone more than two games this year without a point and ranks fourth in NHL scoring.
- Jakob Chychrun is on a three-game point streak, with six points over that span.
- Washington's power play continues to surge with PPGs in four straight games and seven of the last eight overall.
- Look out for Connor McMichael; he had three assists on Friday and is hungry to keep up his high-scoring ways.
- Also watch for John Carlson to make some noise. He’s been racking up points of late, but has had three goals called back this season. He’s hungry to get in that column again.
