The Capitals are coming off a convincing sweep in Florida.

WASHINGTON — After having Thanksgiving to regroup after a wild sweep in Florida, the Washington Capitals are back home and looking to continue to build on their recent turnaround against the New York Islanders on Black Friday.

Here's everything to know before puck drop at 3 p.m. ET at Capital One Arena.

    Washington Capitals Line Combinations

Head coach Spencer Carbery wouldn't commit to the lineup before the game, but he is switching up the top-6 slightly.

Logan Thompson will get the start in net as the goaltending rotation continues.

Here are the lines vs. the Islanders, as D.C. continues to find its offense without Alex Ovechkin:

    Aliaksei Protas-Dylan Strome-Taylor Raddysh

    Connor McMichael-Pierre-Luc Dubois-Tom Wilson

    Hendrix Lapierre-Lars Eller-Andrew Mangiapane

    Brandon Duhaime-Nic Dowd-Ivan Miroshnichenko

    Martin Fehervary-John Carlson

    Jakob Chychrun-Trevor van Riemsdyk

    Rasmus Sandin-Matt Roy

    Logan Thompson

    Charlie Lindgren

    Washington Capitals Stats

    - Tom Wilson ended a 12-game goal drought last game and has points in three of his last four outings.

    - Dylan Strome is coming off another multi-point performance and has five points in his last five games. He hasn't gone more than two games this year without a point.

    - Lars Eller and Hendrix Lapierre have points in back-to-back games.

    Washington Capitals Storylines

    - Washington's power play has continued to take a step in the right direction with PPGs in six of the last seven outings overall. Look for it to try and capitalize again vs. New York, which has the second-worst penalty kill in the league.

    - The Capitals will also have to stay disciplined, something that's been an issue the last couple of games. Though the Islanders are only operating at 12.5 percent, too many penalties can be costly.

    - Logan Thompson is, statistically, one of the NHL's best goalies right now; he ranks high in goals saved above expected and continues to prove his worth. Watch for him to have a strong outing as the goalie rotation continues.

    - Keep an eye on Pierre-Luc Dubois; he's been racking up assists lately, and as he starts to get rewarded on the scoresheet, he'll look to be even hungrier.
