The Capitals own five selections in the upcoming draft.

The Washington Capitals have a handful of decisions to make come draft day, as they own five selections in the upcoming NHL Draft.

Washington will select No. 16th and 18th in the opening round, with the No. 18 pick coming from the Anaheim Ducks as part of the trade for John Carlson.

After that, the Capitals will not pick again until the fourth round. They traded away their second-round pick last summer to acquire Justin Sourdif from the Florida Panthers, and the offseason before that, shipped out their third-round selection as part of the trade for Jakob Chychrun.

Washington will then select at 112th overall and 144th in the fifth round. The Capitals traded their sixth-round pick to the Vancouver Canucks at the deadline for pending unrestricted free agent center David Kampf, and will have their final pick in the seventh round at No. 208.

The 2026 NHL Draft takes place on June 26 and 27 in Buffalo.
