The Capitals had quite a bit to say following their eighth loss in nine games.

WASHINGTON — Charlie Lindgren felt comfortable speaking on behalf of his entire team, and he didn't mince words as he expressed frustration with yet another loss for the Washington Capitals.

Washington fell 6-3 to the Colorado Avalance on Tuesday, and despite some flashes of strong hockey and promising performances against some of the top teams in the league, goals and points are hard to come by for D.C., who has now dropped eight of the last nine contests.

"We're tired of losing hockey games. I think we got a team in here that's certainly capable of winning hockey games, you know, and we know what our blueprint is and I think, like you said, we've been playing some pretty darn good hockey here, especially the last three games," Lindgren said. "I think we've played to our identity and for us to win, that's what we gotta do is we gotta be ourselves... We got guys that compete extremely hard and got a lot of high-character guys in this room, but yeah, it sucks losing."

The Capitals remain six points out of a playoff spot with 30 games left in the regular season and a few weeks to go before the trade deadline, and Washington knows that the time is now to get back in the win column.

"We need to start stringing together wins. We really got zero choice, so it's win now or we make our own bed," Lindgren, who stopped 31 of 35 in the loss, said.

Here's what the rest of the team had to say postgame, including more from Tom Wilson on his fourth-line role, Connor McMichael on busting out of his goal drought and more.
