Hear from Oshie, Ovechkin and Lindgren following the Capitals' 5-2 win over the Blues.

Oshie Postgame

WASHINGTON — "Crazy how that works out. I'll hear Country Roads anytime, though," T.J. Oshie said with a grin when asked about fittingly scoring a hat trick to get John Denver to blast through Capital One Arena on Country Music Night en route to a 5-2 win over the St. Louis Blues.

Oshie had three goals in the win, and Alex Ovechkin also got n the scoresheet in his return from injury while Charlie Lindgren stopped 18 of 20 shots to move D.C. into a tie for a Wild Card spot.

Here's what the team had to say postgame:

On staying hot in his return from injury and what happened when he returned to Minneosta: "I just go see my chiro there, it’s the same guy so it’s the same guy that I’ve seen for two years now any time I miss time with certain injuries, so no different. It’s nice to get some goals here, get some points and it’s always fun to be the guy that’s putting the puck in the net but there’s a lot of credit that’s gotta go to Strome and Patch. There’s been an instant chemistry there, not just the goals but there’s a lot of little plays that are making the game really easy on us because we’re working for each other and we’re supporting each other and we’re really just having a blast jumping over the boards together. So that’s been the root of all of our offense.”

On netting his sixth career hat trick:  "It's pretty special. You know even at this point in my career, to get that recognition is super cool. I told Tom and Dowder when we got over the bench to just shoot it and just win the game and end it but you know it's cool to get that recognition. The fans here really my whole career here, St. Louis, college and Warroad before that, have always been so generous and so supportive of me. So I appreciate them losing a couple bucks and throwing some hats out there."

On returning from injury: "I feel pretty good. Obviously, first couple touches was kind of weird, but I kind of dust it off my shoulders and feel the puck, feel the game, feel the rhythm."

On Oshie's hot streak: "Last game, he was the fastest skater. Right now, he get a hat trick. He's pretty hot, so just do our job now and give him the puck."
