WASHINGTON — Despite a standout night from the third line of Connor McMichael, Anthony Mantha and Aliaksei Protas and carrying a 3-2 lead into the third period, the Washington Capitals couldn't get the job done against the Florida Panthers.

Ultimately, it was a couple of mistakes that marked the difference between the win and loss, and having a goal overturned for the fifth time in seven games didn't help, either as Washington fell 4-3 in overtime.
