The 29-year-old has 83 regular-season fights over his belt over the course of his 11-year tenure with the Capitals.

The Washington Capitals will see Tom Wilson hit a major career milestone on Thursday against the Anaheim Ducks, as he will play in his 700th NHL game.

Wilson, who is likely the next captain of the Capitals whenever Alex Ovechkin chooses to hang up the skates, has had a major impact since making his NHL debut back in 2013, from his big hits to scoring some big goals while working his way up the lineup to become a top-line winger.

Ultimately, what No. 43 is most known for, though, is his toughness. Wilson has been the Capitals' top fighter over the course of his career, racking up 83 regular-season fights over his 11-year tenure in D.C.

But who has he dropped the gloves with the most over the course of his career Here's a closer look based on fighting totals and ensuing minor penalties from scrums.

According to More Hockey Stats, Wilson most often gets into it with Toronto Maple Leafs forward Kyle Clifford, as he's gotten into a total of four altercations with him in his career (two fights, two scrums that resulted in penalties).

When it comes to the most overall fights (dropping the gloves and matching five-minute majors), Wilson has dropped the gloves the most with Luke Schenn, Matt Martin and Marcus Foligno, going toe-to-toe with each of them three times.

Ryan Reaves is his next top opponent, as the two have gotten in two fights and got in one scrum that led to matching roughing minors. Pat Maroon ranks behind him with one fight and two scrums.

Wilson has gotten into three fights this season. He fought Marcus Pettersson on opening night against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Mark Kastelic on Oct. 18 against the Ottawa Senators and Jordan Greenway on Nov. 22 against the Buffalo Sabres.

When it comes to his best fight of all time, though, there's one that easily takes the cake: his bout with Braydon Coburn in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals in 2018 against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Other honorable mentions include his fight with Joe Thornton in 2017-18 and tilt with Jamie Oleksiak in 2018-19. Here's a full compilation of some of his best battles:
