Fleury scored his first goal since December 19, 2023 on Sunday and recorded his second point of the season. Both his first goal and assist of the season came in the Winnipeg Jets’ 3-2 win over the St. Louis Blues.
It is an especially meaningful moment considering what he went through earlier this season. On January 6, Fleury suffered a scary injury after falling backward into the boards and hitting his head. He had to be stretchered off the ice and later dealt with several injuries. Fleury showed incredible resilience by returning to the lineup just under two months later on March 1.
Fleury is signed on with the Jets until the end of the 2026-27 season and carries a $950,000 cap hit.
