On Monday, forward Mark Scheifele has become the first player in the current era of the Winnipeg Jets to surpass the 100-point mark, finishing with 101 points and setting a new franchise record for a single NHL season.
That total breaks the previous mark of 100 points set by Marian Hossa during the 2006–07 season, when the organization was still known as the Atlanta Thrashers.
It is a milestone that adds another chapter to the franchise’s offensive history. During the WHA years, Bobby Hull delivered a remarkable 142-point season in 1974–75, a record that still stands when those seasons are included.
At the NHL level, the benchmark for decades has been Teemu Selänne’s unforgettable rookie campaign in 1992–93, when he recorded 132 points in one of the most iconic seasons in league history.
Now, Scheifele’s 101-point season stands as the new standard for the modern Jets era, a milestone that cements his place in franchise history and highlights just how special this season has been in Winnipeg.
