The Winnipeg Jets are looking for their third consecutive win and for revenge against Vancouver Canucks.
The Jets and Canucks faced off 12 days ago, with the Canucks handily beating the Jets 6-2. The Canucks stormed out to a 3-1 lead after the first period and never looked back.
Brock Boeser and Pius Suter were the catalysts in that matchup, each scoring two goals. Suter enters tonight's game with an abundance of confidence. The 28-year-old pending UFA has recorded seven points in his last three games.
The Jets also enter tonight's contest with confidence amid serious injury problems. They've beaten the Washington Capitals and the New Jersey Devils since Gabriel Vilardi was announced week-to-week. HC Scott Arniel provided an update on Vilardi's health situation.
"It's not one of those ones where it's an automatic four-to-six. He's a ways away," Arniel said. "He's a way from even trying to get into the weight room right now. He's more on just getting better."
In his absence, Alex Iafallo has joined Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor on the top line, scoring twice against the Devils.
The Dallas Stars were once again victorious in their recent game, putting the pressure back on the Jets to pick up the two points. It's the final game of their four-game homestand, and it's imperative that they keep their focus in what's shaping up to be a stacked Central Division.
Puck drop is at 2:00 PM CST at the Canada Life Centre.
