The Winnipeg Jets have lost for the second time in as many days.

The Winnipeg Jets dropped their second game in as many nights on Sunday evening in Edmonton.

Facing off against the Oilers in a Sunday evening showdown for the second game in less than 24 hours, the Jets actually came out firing early, but ultimately couldn't handle Edmonton's late-game fire power.

Falling 5-2 at home to division rival Minnesota on Saturday, the Jets once again managed just two goals on Sunday - this time on the road.

Scoring just 17 seconds into the contest, David Gustafsson redirected a long-range Logan Stanley point shot, It beat Oliver Rodrigue, giving the visitors a very early 1-0 lead.

But just three minutes later, Edmonton got one back, as Sam O'Reilly beat Eric Comrie at 3:23 of the opening frame.

The middle stanza offered nothing in terms of goal scoring, but both teams got one back in the third, with Raphael Lavoie giving Edmonton its first lead on a power play slapper midway through the frame.

But, much like Edmonton's first period response, the Jets responded quickly, tying the game at twos just 10 seconds later on a wrist shot from Dominic Toninato off a Kevin He setup play.

The game required additional time to find a winner, but just 1:17 that is. Cam Dineen got the winner in the three-on-three mini game, with Vasily Podkolzin and Matt Savoie picking up the helpers.

Comrie finished the night with 25 saves on the 28 shots he faced, but was handed the overtime loss.

Winnipeg next takes to the ice on Wednesday at home against the very same Oilers. That game features a 7:00 PM central start time and can be viewed live on TSN.
