The Winnipeg Jets have improved to 26-9-4 with a 6-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes.

Another day, another win for the Winnipeg Jets.

On Sunday evening, the Jets concluded their three-game mentors trip with a perfect 3-0-0 record, as Winnipeg bested the Arizona Coyotes 6-2 from Mullett Arena in Tempe.

Mark Scheifele scored twice, Connor Hellebuyck picked up win No. 20 of the season (in game No. 29) while Vlad Namestnikov, Nikolaj Ehlers, Cole Perfetti and Adam Lowry also found the twine for Winnipeg in the Central Division showdown.

With the victory, the Jets extended their franchise record points streak to 12 games, while pushing their streak of games with three or less goals against to 29-straight.

Namestnikov got things going late in the first period, as he hammered home a loose puck in front of Karel Vejmelka, on a play off a strong Perfetti forecheck. His goal was the lone marker of the opening frame.

Ehlers wasted little time doubling Winnipeg's lead in the middle stanza, scoring less than four minutes into the period on a solo effort, as he hilariously banked the puck off defenceman Dylan Samberg's skate and blasted the one-time self-pass past Vejmelka.

Arizona got on the board as Nick Schmaltz put his twelfth of the season past Hellebuyck - but as it turned out, that would be one of just two pucks that would find its way past the four-time NHL All-Star.

With six minutes left in the second, Cole Perfetti was credited with his 12th of the year on a lengthy delayed Coyotes penalty.

Through 40 minutes of play, Winnipeg held a 3-1 lead and a heavy 26-9 shot lead.

Scheifele added some insurance in the early stages of the third, scoring a beautiful backhand breakaway marker off a slick pass from Ehlers 5:11 into the frame. His 13th snapped a seven-game goalless drought, and gave Winnipeg a 4-1 lead.

Dylan Guenther got one back for Arizona in his first game of the season. The goal came off a misplayed puck from Hellebuyck following a Coyotes dump-in. Guenther stripped him of the disc and beat the Jets' backstop around the back of the net, scoring his first since last January.

But that was it for the Coyotes' attack, as Scheifele potted his second of the game into the empty net off a Gabe Vilardi feed.

Lowry put the finishing touches on on the win with yet another marker, coming off the stick of line mates Nino Niederreiter and Mason Appleton with just seconds remaining on what was an exceptionally successful Western Conference road trip.

Hellebuyck made 15 stops on the 17 shots he faced, improving his record to 20-6-3 on the season, while Karel Vejmelka turned aside 30 of Winnipeg's 35 shots on the night.

Next up for the Jets is a four-game homestand from Canada Life Centre beginning on Tuesday evening against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Chicago Blackhawks, Philadelphia Flyers and New York Islanders each make their way town over the course of the next week.

The three weekday games can be viewed live on TSN at 7:00 PM central, while Saturday's test against the Flyers will be aired at 6:00 PM on City TV.
