The Winnipeg Jets return home after a successful 3-0-0 road trip to battle the Carolina Hurricanes in what should be another difficult test.

The Jets set out on a three-game Eastern Conference road trip with matchups against the Montreal Canadiens, Boston Bruins and the Washington Capitals. The Jets were able to handle the Canadiens and Bruins with relative ease but their matchup against the Capitals proved to be a difficult one.

The Jets had 2-0, 3-1 and 4-2 leads throughout the game but the Capitals continued to fight back and brought the game to overtime. Josh Morrissey was able to win the game with his second goal of the night to help the Jets pick up all six points during the road trip.

Before the 4 Nations Face-Off break, the Jets will be challenged by a pair of Metropolitan Division teams. Tonight, they'll take on Mikko Rantanen and the Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes pulled off the most shocking trade of the season until the NBA stepped in with Luka Doncic moving to the Los Angeles Lakers over the weekend. Since Rantanen's arrival, he's scored a goal and an assist in four games.

Under HC Rod Brind'Amour, the Hurricanes play fast. They are quick on the forecheck, and backcheck and immediately look to head up ice after creating turnovers. They fire lots of pucks at the net, looking to be first to a rebound.

They are second in shots on goal per game and first in shots allowed per game. They are a balanced hockey club attempting to rotate all four lines.

Eric Comrie will start in goal for the Jets tonight, allowing Connor Hellebuyck to rest after starting three consecutive games. Comrie was finally able to end his losing streak against the Calgary Flames on Jan. 26 and will be hoping to start a more positive streak.

Puck drop is at 7:00 P.M. CST at the Canadian Life Centre.
