The Winnipeg Jets continue their tour of the West, moving into British Columbia to take on the Vancouver Canucks.

The Jets were victorious last time out, defeating the Seattle Kraken in comeback fashion. They had found themselves down a pair of goals before Cole Perfetti, Kyle Connor and Dylan Samberg each scored to pick up the overtime win.

Before the overtime victory, the Jets defeated the Dallas Stars and the New York Rangers at home.

The Jets will take on the Canucks tonight, a team clinging onto the second wild card spot in the Western Conference despite season-long inconsistent play.  They've watched J.T. Miller leave the franchise and have had extended injuries to key players like captain Quinn Hughes and goaltender Thatcher Demko. Brock Boeser, Elias Pettersson and Filip Hronek are other key contributors who have missed games at some point during the season.

Tied with the St. Louis Blues at the moment, the Canucks need every point they can salvage, meaning the Jets will need to match their intensity.

Connor Hellebuyck will start in goal for the Jets tonight. He briefly came in relief of Eric Comrie, who was forced to exit the game after being pulled by the concussion spotter. In his limited time in the first period, Hellebuyck allowed a goal of six shots.

Hellebuyck has continued his dominant play throughout the season, posting a 39-9-3 record in 52 games, to go along with his .927 SV% and a 1.99 GAA. Kevin Lankinen, the Canucks' confirmed starting goaltender tonight, was brought to Vancouver to be the backup goaltender for Demko, but due to Demko's injuries, it's forced Lankinen to take the starters net.

    In 43 games, he's recorded a 23-13-7 record, a .904 SV% and a 2.54 GAA in 43 appearances.

The Jets are inching closer to locking up the Central Division and need to stay focused on picking up wins at the rate they've been doing for the entire 2024-25 campaign.
