Moments before the goal, Dylan DeMelo made a goal-line clearance to prevent the Devils from breaking the ice.
The Jets extended their lead to 3-0 in the second period with goals from Josh Morrissey and Nikolaj Ehlers. The tallies from both Jets players marked goals in back-to-back games.
The third period began with a Dawson Mercer goal, cutting the lead to 3-1 and placing pressure on the Jets, but they responded perfectly. Goals from Adam Lowry, Kyle Connor and Cole Perfetti put the game out of reach and helped secure the two points.
Connor Hellebuyck was back in goal for the Jets and turned away all but one shot, making 22 saves. It was a challenging game for Jacob Markstrom, turning away just 29 of the 35 shots he faced.
The Jets complete their road trip on Sunday against the Carolina Hurricanes.
