The Winnipeg Jets have beat the New York Rangers 4-2 on Tuesday.

Carter Brooks Winnipeg Jets Postgame Report

On Tuesday night, the Winnipeg Jets rolled down Broadway and took care of business with a 4-2 victory over the New York Rangers.

Connor Hellebuyck bested Igor Shesterkin in the battle of recent Vezina Trophy winning netminders, as he turned aside 38 of New York's 40 shots, while Shesterkin allowed three tallies on 26 shots against.

All of Winnipeg's offence came from the Jets' usual suspects, as members of the top line contributed on all four goals.

Mark Scheifele had a hat trick, while Sean Monahan had two assists on the night, as the Jets scored one time on the power play, while allowing just two Rangers goals against one of the league's very best offensive clubs.

Four of the games goals came in the second period, to which Winnipeg scored three times, and New York added one, before the Rangers brought it to just one goal late in the third. But Scheifele sealed the deal on his hat trick with an empty-netter as the seconds ticked down.

Winnipeg has now improved to 44-19-5 on the year and first place in the Central with 93 points, while picking up its third-straight victory.

The Jets will now travel to New Jersey on Thursday night for the third stop of their five-game road trip vs. the Devils. That game features another 6:00 PM central puck drop. It will be aired live on TSN.
