Former Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers has found a new home.
On Thursday afternoon - or late evening in Denmark - the 29-year-old winger agreed to terms on a six-year, $51 million contract with the Carolina Hurricanes.

It will pay him an average annual value of $8.5 million.
Ehlers played out the final season of his current contract and did not opt to re-sign in Winnipeg prior to his contract running out on June 30.
Drafted by Winnipeg ninth overall in 2014, Ehlers has suited up in 674 games for the franchise over the past 10 years, collecting 225 goals, 520 points and 222 penalty minutes in the process. He also added nine goals and 21 points in 45 Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Jets.
Ehlers will look to slot in alongside fellow Europeans Andrei Svechnikov and Sebastian Aho in Carolina. The Jets will host the Hurricanes one time this season at Canada Life Centre.
