
On Thursday evening, Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck was named the NHL's winner of the 2023-24 Vezina Trophy.
Awarded annually to the goaltender adjudged to be the best at his position, the 31-year-old Hellebuyck beat out finalists Thatcher Demko and Sergei Bobrovsky.
The final votes indicated that Hellebuyck's stellar campaign certainly was not lost on many voters - which just so happen to be the league's 32 general managers.
He earned an incredible 31 of 32 first-place votes, tearing up his competition.
Going 37-19-4 on the season with a 2.39 goals against average, a .921 save percentage and five shutouts, Hellebuyck was already crowned as the league's Jennings Trophy winner, as the goaltender of record on the team allowing the fewest goals against in the season.
He gave up three or fewer goals against in 50 of his 60 games. while posting two streaks of 10 games with two or fewer goals against.
It was his fourth Vezina Trophy nomination, second-consecutive nomination and second career win. Hellebuyck finished second in voting in 2017-18 and third in 2022-23.
