The Western Hockey League has a new all-time wins leader. And it is none other than former Winnipeg ICE backstop Daniel Hauser.
Breaking into the WHL with the ICE in 2021, the Chestermere, AB. product spent three years with Winnipeg before the team left for Wenatchee for the 2023-24 season. He remained with the Wild for the past two years before being dealt to Calgary midway through this season.
It was on Wednesday night vs. the Red Deer Rebels that Hauser became the WHL's all-time leader in wins with career victory No. 123. He beat the Rebels 5-1 on Wednesday, surpassing Saskatoon's Nolan Maier.
Also this season, Hauser set a CHL record by starting 22-straight games without losing in regulation. He went 20-0-2 in what has been a stellar campaign for the final-year stud.
With the Hitmen this year, Hauser has gone 20-4-0 with a 1.94 goals against average and a .924 save percentage. The former sixth round pick holds a career record of 123-36-9 in 175 WHL games. He is set to attend the University of Wisconsin next season.
