The Winnipeg Jets have signed forward Rasmus Kupari to a two-year deal.

The Winnipeg Jets have signed offseason acquisition Rasmus Kupari to a two-year, $2 million contract.

The deal features a $1 million annual average value and will see the Kotka, Finland product remain a restricted free agent upon the contract's expiration in July of 2025.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound forward was acquired from Los Angeles as a part of the return for forward Pierre-Luc Dubois in the late-June blockbuster.

Kupari, 23, suited up in 66 games for the Kings last season and scored three times, while adding 12 assists for 15 points to go alongside 12 penalty minutes.

He has spent time on the Kings roster in each of the past three seasons, skating in 130 total games, where he has nine goals and 29 points.

Kupari also has appeared in 58 games for the Ontario Reign over that time frame, scoring 18 goals and 40 points during those three AHL seasons.

He played three times at the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship for Finland, winning the gold medal in 2019. He had a goal and five points in 13 total games for his country from 2017-20.

Selected 20th overall in the 2018 NHL Draft, Kupari will be looking to lock down the fourth line centre role with Winnipeg, as Mark Scheifele, Gabe Vilardi and Adam Lowry likely have the top-three lines middle position sorted out.

Jets' general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff will now turn his attention to defencemen Logan Stanley and Declan Chisholm as his final two restricted free agents with whom need contracts sorted out.
