Fresh off a Stanley Cup victory, Brossoit has opted to return to Winnipeg for the 2023-24 season.
With the Vegas Golden Knights attempting to balance their five goaltenders of record, the club has now parted ways with both Jonathan Quick (New York Rangers) and Brossoit, who has signed a one-year deal worth $1.75 million with the Jets.
He put up a 7-0-3 record in 10 games with Vegas last season, before eliminating the Jets in the first round of the playoffs.
Winnipeg also agreed to terms on a single-year deal with Colin Delia worth a total of $775K.
The 29-year-old California product spent the past year with Vancouver, where he wen 10-6-2 in 20 appearances. In 52 career games between the Canucks and Chicago Blackhawks, Delia owns a 19-18-7 record.
Last season saw him finish the year with just an .882 save percentage, slightly off his career average of .897.
In 121 American Hockey League games, the newest Jet has gone 65-42-19, to go alongside five shutouts and a much better .907 save percentage.
Winnipeg will certainly need to stock its farm, and quite possibly both its NHL goaltending shelves. With Connor Hellebuyck rumoured to be out the door via trade, and David Rittich exploring free agency, the team's two netminders from last season could be gone before opening night.
The club now has Hellebuyck, Brossoit and Delia signed to its big-league roster.
Winnipeg does have some youth in the system, having drafted Thomas Milic at the 2023 NHL Draft on Thursday, while also owning Domenic DiVincentiis and retaining Oskari Salminen of the Moose.
