The Winnipeg Jets fell 5-0 to the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night,

Brenden Dillon vs. Jacob Middleton

The Winnipeg Jets travelled to Vancouver for the second half of a Friday/Saturday back-to-back, and fell 5-0  to the Canucks in a game to which they hardly showed any character.

Much unlike the February 17 showdown at Rogers Arena, where Winnipeg doubled up the host Canucks 4-2, the Jets gave up a goal early on Saturday and couldn't recover, ultimately falling by five to Vancouver in British Columbia on Saturday,.

Connor Hellebuyck made just 32 stops on the 37 Canucks shots he faced, while the duo of Thatcher Demko and Casey DeSmith made all 22 combined stops, as the Canucks picked up a blank sheet over Winnipeg.

And they did so by nearly doubling Winnipeg in shots 37-22 on the night.

JT Miller opened the scoring just 2:05 into the contest, before Nils Hoglander doubled the hosts' lead midway through the opening frame on a wrist shot, before Phillip Di Giuseppe made it 3-0 before the first period even came to and end.

Recent contact extension signee Elias Pettersson scored in the second period, making it 4-0 for Vancouver, to which the Canucks added just one more in the third.

For only the sixth time on the season, Winnipeg allowed a fifth gaol against, with Pius Sutter cleaning up a rebound with five minutes to play, as the Canucks went up 5-0 late in the third.

Hellebuyck finished the night with 32 stops on the 37 pucks he faced, while Demko and Desmith turned aside all 22 of Winnipeg's shots in the game.

Next up for the Jets is a three-game-in-five-night homestand, to which Winnipeg hosts the Washington Capitals, Nashville Predators and Anaheim Ducks on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, respectively. Monday and Wednesday's games can be viewed live on Sportsnet at 6:30 PM central time.
