On Monday, it was announced that Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck had been named the NHL's Third Star of the Week ending Sunday, January 7.
Over that timespan the jets' top backstop went a perfect 3-0-0 and had a .937 save percentage and a sensational 1.68 goals against average over that time period.
The 30-year-old has now picked up points in 12-straight games (10-0-2) and has pushed the Jets right to the very top of the league with a 26-9-4 record.
Having just been named the league's Third Star of the Month in December, Hellebuyck began the new year with a 34-save victory over Tampa Bay at home, before helping his mates sweep the club's mentors trip in a three-game set from California and Arizona.
On top of his busy week, Hellebuyck earned his fourth NHL All-Star nod and will make the trip to Toronto in early-February as one of four goaltenders selected in the initial 32-man roster unveil.
The Michigan product has been a significant piece of the puzzle in Winnipeg, as he has helped the team to 29-straight games without allowing more than three goals, to which his personal record is 16-3-2 and owns a 1.96 goals against average and a .932 save percentage in that time.
Monday's recognition is the first of the season for Hellebuyck and the fourth time in his career to be honoured as one of the Stars of the Week. The currently-injured Kyle Connor was the first Jets player to take home a Star this season.
