Fans of the Winnipeg Jets should have a vested interest in Saturday afternoon's clash at the IIHF World Hockey Championship.

The game will feature Switzerland and Denmark facing off against one another for a shot at the gold medal against USA.

The Americans earlier defeated Sweden 6-2 to advance to the gold medal game.

Saturday's contest between Switzerland and Denmark will determine the other team in the final.

For Winnipeggers who haven't quite hit their hockey fix maximum, the game will see two familiar faces, as Denmark's Nikolaj Ehlers and Switzerland's Nino Niederreiter will do battle in a game that  will determine if their countries end up playing for gold or bronze on Sunday.

Ehlers already helped Denmark complete a miraculous victory over the heavily favoured Canadian squad, propelling the Danes to the semi-final. Switzerland earned its place in the semis following a 6-0 drubbing of Austria.

The two countries will square off in the semi-final game on Saturday morning at 11:30 AM. It can be viewed on TSN.
