Winnipeg Jets forward Dominic Toninato has cleared Waivers.

The Winnipeg Jets have dodged a bullet, as forward Dominic Toninato passed through Waivers unclaimed on Friday.

Toninato originally served as an emergency AHL recall, but thanks to Kyle Connor being placed on the team's injured reserve, his status shifted to that of a regular recall when he was listed as a healthy scratch on Wednesday.

Having cleared Waivers back on October 2, Toninato has been listed on Winnipeg's roster for a full month, meaning he needed to clear once again, in order to achieve a clean slate.

The 29-year-old was required to pass through unclaimed in order to comply with league rulings.

With no claims being placed on the Duluth, MN. product, he will continue to serve as a recall for Winnipeg and is eligible to be sent back down to the Moose without penalty over the next month.

For Toninato, things haven't quite gone the way he would have hoped since signing his two-year, $1.55 million contract with Winnipeg this past April.

Having suited up quite regularly with the Jets in 2021-22, he was relegated to the minors for the majority of the 2022-23 season.

This year has been a bit more of an equal split between the two clubs for the 2012 fifth round pick. However, Toninato has yet to dress in a big-league game for the Jets, while suiting up in nine games for the Moose. In those contests, he has two goals and six points.

Should he be reassigned to Manitoba, Toninato will likely draw into action for the Moose, who host the Milwaukee Admirals at Canada Life Centre Friday night. THN
