The Jets returned to the ice for a skate following their brief Christmas break.

Adam Lowry Following Practice

The Winnipeg Jets hit the ice for the first time following the Christmas break since beating the Toronto Maple Leafs from the Scotiabank Arena on Monday.

Dylan Samberg returned to the ice on his own for the first time since suffering a broken foot, while Logan Stanley also skated with the group.

Fellow defender Haydn Fleury did not have as much luck when attempting to skate with Samberg prior to the main group on Friday. Dylan Coghlan was recalled from the Moose on Friday morning as a backup plan, should Stanley not be ready to go on Saturday.

Head coach Scott Arniel suggested that Fleury's efforts were there, but his body was not, indicating he will be considered week-to-week with his lower-body injury, suffered last Monday in an awkward fall.

Stanley and Ville Heinola switched defensive pairs during the team's line rushes, while David Gustafsson was bumped down to the extra forward slot, as Rasmus Kupari took the fourth line for a twirl.

The Jets will host the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night at 6:00 PM central, before the Nashville Predators roll into town on Monday.
