Our Jets will Fly-4-Ever - well, maybe not, but close.
Once again, the Winnipeg Jets will be among the NHL clubs with the most air miles during the 2024-25 season.
Thomas Nestico (TJ Stats) took a look at each of the 32 clubs' schedules and put together travel plans for each team.
Calculations have been made, and teams have been ranked 1-32 in terms of most time spent in the air on travel through the 82-game regular season.
According to Nestico, the team travelling the furthest this season will be the Dallas Stars - by a long shot. They will fly roughly 6,000 miles further than the No. 2 club, the Florida Panthers.
Winnipeg will own the sixth-most air miles by season's end with approximately 48,200 miles travelled - or nearly 78,000 kilometres, for those Imperially challenged.
The 48,200 miles is tied with Seattle and more than five of the six other Canadian clubs (Edmonton, 50,000). Of the Jets' Central Division opponents, just the Stars and Utah HC travel more than Winnipeg.
Of note, the Eastern Conference owns the bottom-10 spots on the list. The lowest number of expected miles travelled this season is 31,700 (Pittsburgh). No Central Division team is ranked lower than No. 20 on the list (Chicago, 40,700).
The Jets have a six-game road trip from November 22 to December 1 this season that will see stops in Pittsburgh, Nashville, Minnesota, Los Angeles, Vegas and Dallas - easily the lengthiest trek of the season.
