Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey finished fourth in the 2024-25 Norris Trophy voting, the highest placing of his career.

Scoring 14 goals and 62 points in 80 games en route to a franchise-best regular season record and a Presidents' Trophy, capped off an outstanding year for the Jets' No.1 defenseman.

The 30-year-old has become one of the best defensemen in the NHL and is beginning to receive the recognition he deserves. His skating, passing, and puck handling make him a threat offensively and efficient in transition, but he's become immensely reliable in the defensive end. Morrissey averaged a career-high 24:23 of ice time this season, leading the Jets once again.

Finishing ahead of Morrissey in Norris Trophy voting was the Colorado Avalanche's Cale Makar, winning the award for the second time, Columbus Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski and Vancouver Canucks' Quinn Hughes.

Morrissey finished with five second-place votes, 18 third-place votes, 41 fourth-place votes and 32 fifth-place votes, good enough for 280 points, 15 more than Tampa Bay Lightning captain Victor Hedman.

Morrissey's season was stellar, highlighted by a gold medal with Team Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off, although he was unable to play in the finals due to illness. Morrissey also suffered a pair of injuries in the playoffs against the St. Louis Blues and the Dallas Stars. The second injury was considered a "major"  and was an ailment that he said would have kept him out for the remainder of the playoffs.

The Calgary, AB native will use the offseason to recover from the injury and look to improve on his fourth-place finish next season.
