Earlier in the season, Samberg was forced to miss 21 games with a broken foot. Now the 26-year-old will be out tonight due to family reasons, according to HC Scott Arniel. Samberg has played in 40 games during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring four goals and 13 points.

Replacing him in the lineup will be Haydn Fleury. Fleury had been a fairly consistent participant before he suffered an injury in late December against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Since then, he's been in the press box most of the time, watching Logan Stanley and Colin Miller play together on the third pairing.

His return tonight will mark his 31st game of the season where he's recorded no goals and six assists. The 28-year-old skated alongside Miller during this morning's practice.

Losing Samberg will be a tough blow tonight as he has fully blossomed this year and they've been nearly unbeatable with him in the lineup. His ability to defend the rush and the cycle, while also being an efficient puck mover, has made the Jets increasingly difficult to score on. The Jets' record with Samberg in the lineup is 31-7-2.
