The Winnipeg Jets have made a number of cuts to their training camp roster.

The Winnipeg Jets have announced some signifiant changes to their training camp roster, reducing numbers by 18 as the month of October began.

After initially making six cuts last Tuesday that saw goaltender Domenic DiVincentiis, defencemen Simon Kibicek and Jimmy Oligny, as well as forwards Jacob Julien, Connor Levis and C.J. Suess sent back junior or the minors, the team has since cut bait with 18 more players.

On Saturday evening Winnipeg announced 10 cuts, before doubling down on five more reductions on Sunday.

The five players cut on Sunday (Sautner, Harkins, Malott, Reichel, Toninato) will need to pass through Waivers in order to make it to the Manitoba Moose.

Harkins - who has scored two goals this preseason - is the most intriguing option for teams looking for a depth player capable of scoring goals. He had 25 goals and 50 points in 44 games for Manitoba last year, while also suiting up in 22 games for the Jets.

Toninato, who - much like Harkins - has been a very capable NHL regular for the past number of seasons, and could also very well be scooped up.

Winnipeg now has 18 forwards, 11 defencemen and three goaltenders remaining at training camp. The final 23-man roster will be announced prior to opening night puck drop of the regular season next week.

The Jets play in Calgary on Monday for their penultimate preseason game, before heading home for one final exhibition test with the Ottawa Senators on Thursday.
