The Winnipeg Jets have signed defenceman Garrett Brown to a two-year contract beginning in 2026-27.
The 22-year-old University of Denver standout just concluded his final NCAA season with the Pioneers, to which he earned his second national championship in the past three seasons.

Brown's contract carries an annual average value of $1.05 million if playing at the NHL level.
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound blueliner was selected by the Jets 99th overall in the fourth round of the 2022 NHL Draft. Brown was the final of Winnipeg's selections from the 2022 draft to put pen to paper on a professional contract.
A right-shooting defender, the Buffalo, NY product is known for his play without the puck and his defence. He had two goals, 12 points and 12 penalty minutes for the Pioneers in 33 games this past season, while totalling four goals, 24 points and 59 penalty minutes in 83 career NCAA contests.
