The Hockey News Pregame Show

The 28-9-4 Winnipeg Jets host the 22-14-6 Philadelphia Flyers from Canada Life Centre on Saturday evening, beginning a stretch of nine-straight games against Eastern Conference opponents. So far in 2023-24, the Jets have not lost in regulation to a team from the east.

Saturday’s game will feature Connor Hellebuyck back between the pipes for the home team after getting a night off on Thursday.

Forward Mark Scheifele will not play on Saturday after injuring himself on Thursday on what appeared to be a non-contact play.

Rasmus Kupari, who has been out since mid-November, will draw back into the Jets’ lineup following a one-game AHL conditioning stint with the Manitoba Moose.

Forwards Axel Jonsson-Fjallby and Nikolaj Ehlers are considered game-time decisions, as head coach Rick Bowness may once again need to consider going with an 11/7 forward/defence split.

The Jets are riding an eight-game winning streak, have points in 14-straight and haven’t allowed more than three goals against in 31-straight games.
