The Manitoba Moose have become even more Manitoban.

The Moose have announced the signing of Dauphin, Manitoba's Mark Liwiski to a one-year contract for the 2023-24 American Hockey League season.

Liwiski, 21, is a 6-foot-1, 195-pound forward of the Parkland region, who is set to play his second season of professional hockey.

He skated in 67 games for the ECHL's Wichita Thunder last year, where he put up 10 goals, 17 points and a whopping 192 penalty minutes on the season.

Liwiski previously suited up in 204 games in the Western Hockey League for the Everett Silvertips and Kelowna Rockets, where he scored 52 times and added another 44 assists for 96 points from 2017-22. He also had 340 minutes in penalties over his junior career.

Alongside Liwiski, the Moose also announced the signing of fellow forward Thomas Caron for 2023-24.

The 22-year-old Candiac, Quebec product actually played in seven games for the Moose last season, to which he picked up two helpers, after joining the team for 40 games the year before.

Thanks to injury he only managed to skate in 24 total contests last season. 17 of which came with the ECHL's Trois-Rivieres Lions, where he scored three times and added four assists for seven points.

In his 47 career AHL games, Caron has three goals, eight points and 46 penalty minutes. Prior to joining the Moose, Caron played three seasons with the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL, where he scored 31 goals and 72 points in 146 games. He finished his junior career as team captain in 2020-21.
