The Foxwarren native solidifies the blue line after a productive split season. Bringing veteran stability and AHL experience, the former Dallas Stars draftee remains a fixture in his hometown.
The Manitoba Moose are keeping a hometown product in the fold.
The club announced on Tuesday that it had re-signed Foxwarren, Man., native Dawson Barteaux to a one-year AHL contract for the 2026-27 season.
The 26-year-old defenceman appeared in 32 games with the Moose during the 2025-26 regular season, scoring one goal, before appearing in two Calder Cup Playoff games.
Photo by Steve Sasaki/Game On Magazine Barteaux also spent time with the ECHL's Norfolk Admirals last season, recording four goals and five assists for nine points in 20 games.
The 6-foot-2, right-shot blueliner has accumulated 175 career AHL games between Manitoba and the Texas Stars, posting eight goals and 26 assists for 34 points. He has also produced 54 points (nine goals, 45 assists) in 108 career ECHL games with the Admirals and Idaho Steelheads.
Originally selected by the Dallas Stars in the sixth round (168th overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft, Barteaux returns to Manitoba as one of the province's own, providing veteran depth and familiarity on the Moose blueline heading into the 2026-27 season.
