    The Manitoba Moose will be without forward Evan Polei for the 2023-24 season.

    The Lehigh Valley Phantoms have signed former Manitoba Moose forward Evan Polei to a one-year American Hockey League contract for the 2023-24 season.

    The 27-year-old Wetaskiwin, Alberta product came to Manitoba following a two-year NHL contract with the St. Louis Blues, to which he spent its entirely within the AHL.

    He played 114 games with Manitoba over the past two seasons, scoring 19 goals, 43 points and 187 penalty minutes for the Moose. 

    Last year, the 6-foot-2, 230-pound forward posted eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points to go alongside 90 penalty minutes a middle-of-the-pack offender. 

    2023-24 will be Polei's seventh season as a pro, as he previously suited up with Bakersfield, San Antonio, Cleveland and Manitoba, while also spending 32 games with the ECHL's Wichita Thunder in his first year following his time in the Western Hockey League. 

    In all, he has 36 goals, 46 assists and 406 penalty minutes in 234 regular season AHL games. He has another three goals, four points and 22 penalty minutes in 19 playoff contests. 

    Polei is still searching for his first NHL contest, to which the Flyers will need to sign him to an NHL deal should he be called upon from Lehigh this coming season.
