Former Manitoba Moose starting goaltender Mikhail Berdin is up to his old tricks in the KHL.

Monday's game between Kunlun Red Star and HK Sochi took a turn as former Winnipeg Jets goaltending prospect Mikhail Berdin dropped his gloves in a first period fight.

The tilt itself wasn't even close. Berdin got the better of Devin Brosseau, who had just scored against him a minute-and-a-half earlier.

The Kunlun forward drove towards the net on a rush up-ice, and ended up taking out Berdin as he fell to the ice. The former Moose goaltender didn't take lightly to the infraction and ended up pummelling him with a number of shots with his fists.

Brosseau was given two minutes for interference and a five-minute fighting major, while Berdin was hit with a two-minute instigator penalty, a five-minute fighting major and a 10-minute misconduct.

The 25-year-old Russian backstop has 3.14 goals against average and a .914 save percentage in 40 games for the disappointing Sochi club this season.
