Defenceman Calen Addison has officially signed a one-year deal with the Minnesota Wild, just in time for training camp.

The Minnesota Wild and Brandon product Calen Addison have agreed to terms on a one-year contract work $825K for the 2023-24 season.

A one-year deal, the 23-year-old defenceman will be betting on himself to continue his upward trajectory and land himself a big-money contract next summer.

In 62 games for the Wild last year, Addison put up three goals and 29 points, including 18 points scored on the power play.

The always active former Lethbridge Hurricanes blueliner, Addison led all NHL rookies in power play points last year, while setting a Minnesota franchise record for assists by a rookie.

The 5-foot-11, 173-pound Manitoban has suited up in the green and red over parts of three different seasons, but it was 2023-24 to which he found a permanent home in the big leagues.

He has played in 77 career American Hockey League games, to which he has 13 goals and 58 points to his name.

Initially chosen 53rd overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round of the 2018 NHL Draft, Addison was dealt to Minnesota in 2020 as a part of the return (fellow Manitoban Carson Lambos) for forward Jason Zucker.
