Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has become the first goaltender in NHL history to earn the Vezina Trophy, the Jennings Trophy, the Hart Trophy and the Presidents' Trophy in the same season.

After already being named the Jennings Trophy winner at season's end for allowing the fewest goals against, and his team earning the Presidents' Trophy for owning the best record, Hellebuyck was named the recipient of the Vezina and Hart Trophies at the 2025 NHL Award Show on Thursday evening.

Hellebuyck earned 1,346 first-place Hart Trophy votes, narrowly edging out Edmonton's Leon Draisaitl's 1,209 points. He earned 158 Vezina Trophy points to Tampa's Andrei Vasilevskiy's 80 points, taking 31 of 32 first place finishes.

“It means a lot,” said Hellebuyck about winning the Hart Memorial Trophy. “It's one of those things that doesn't get swung towards the goalies too often, so any time that a goalie kind of gets a sniff at it, you take notice… You look back at the year, it was just such a fun year and we had so much positivity around the locker room and everyone was just kind of living in the moment and enjoying the year. With team success, individual success comes and just to get one of these is pretty special in my world.”

Although already known to some, Hellebuyck’s recognition is both an historic moment for the NHL and for the Jets, as only eight other goaltenders in league history have taken home the Hart Trophy before. Additionally, just four goaltenders have earned both trophies in the same season, and just Carey Price has taken home the Vezina Trophy, Jennings Trophy and Hart Trophy.

With a league-leading 47 wins, eight shutouts, a 2.00 goals against average and a .925 save percentage, the 32-year-old backstop is every bit deserving of the accolades.

The Vezina is Hellebuyck’s third, while the Hart is the first to for his trophy case.

Hellebuyck has also become just the third goaltender since the 2000-01 season to put up multiple 43+ win seasons (Martin Brodeur, Evgeni Nabokov).

Hellebuyck and the Jets started the season very hot, setting a league record for the best 15-game start to a season, before cooling off just a touch as the year has progressed.

The 32-year-old’s stellar regular season performance, unfortunately, did not translate to the opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, where he suffered three lopsided road losses in St. Louis. But Hellebuyck's teammates and home fans helped bail him out of the jam with strong performances at Canada Life Centre, pushing Winnipeg to a second round matchup with Dallas - which it lost in six games.

The last time a goaltender won the Hart Trophy? Carey Price in 2014-15.

    His stats?

44-16-6 with a 1.96 goals against average, a .933 save percentage and nine shutouts to his name.

No, Hellebuyck did not catch those numbers, but as is the case with inflation these days, goals are easier to come by in era-adjusted scoring. So Hellebuyck's numbers actually do reflect very similar to those of Price's.

"We think he should be in the Hart Trophy conversation," said Jets captain Adam Lowry. "It's very rare you see a goalie there, not since Carey Price and I think he should be."

Despite now winning the Hart Trophy, the Vezina Trophy, the Jennings Trophy and the Presidents’ Trophy this season, Connor Hellebuyck wants the Stanley Cup. And that fire will not be tamed.
