The Abbotsford Canucks are Calder Cup champions.
For a team that has only been around for four seasons, it is truly a remarkable ending to a thrilling 2024-25 campaign.
For the first time since 2017-18, the Calder Cup is heading home to Canada. Abbotsford went 16-8 in the postseason, following a 44-24-2-2 record through the regular season to earn the league championship on Monday night by way of a 3-2 victory over the Charlotte Checkers in Game 6.

Leading the way for Abbotsford on the blueline was star defenceman Jett Woo. The Winnipeg product scored, had six points, a +8 rating, 12 penalty minutes and 31 shots on goal over the span of 22 games in the Canucks' postseason run.
Nope, it's not the Stanley Cup, but the American Hockey League's year-end trophy is the next best thing in North American hockey.
And now, Jett Woo, the former Winnipeg Warriors AAA star will have his name among some of hockey's greats in the history books. The 24-year-old restricted free agent will look to sign another short-term deal with Vancouver this offseason in hopes of a strong 2025-26 season.
