
The Winnipeg Jets and forward Colby Barlow have come to an agreement on a three-year, entry-level contract, beginning with the 2023-24 NHL season.
The contract is worth $950K against the cap hit, while carrying a $1.2 million annual average value, should he spend any of the next three years with Winnipeg.
If he plays in the American Hockey League with the Manitoba Moose, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound forward will make $83K annually.
Barlow, 18, was selected by Winnipeg 18th overall in the first round of the recent 2023 NHL Draft.
Last season, Barlow produced 46 goals and 79 points in 59 games for the Ontario Hockey League's Owen Sound Attack. He scored another three goals in four postseason contests. In 118 OHL games, the Orillia, Ontario product has 76 goals and 126 points to his name.
An OHL First Team All-Star, Barlow also took both the OHL's and the CHL's Scholastic Player of the Year awards. In three games with the Jets at the 2023 Young Stars Classic in Penticton, British Columbia, he had a goal and four penalty minutes.
