The Winnipeg Jets have signed defenceman Colin Miller to a two-year contract.
Agreeing to terms on a $3 million deal, the right-shooting defender will be back in the polar night blue for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons, making $1.5 million per year on a two-year pact.
Having been dealt to the Jets at the 2024 trade deadline, the 31-year-old only got into five games with Winnipeg during the stretch run of the regular season, before suiting up in the final postseason game of the year.
Clearly the team, staff and city rubbed off on the veteran blueliner, who chose to return for two more seasons, despite the Jets' depth.
Now, with Dylan DeMelo re-signed and Brenden Dillon and Nate Schmidt leaving town by way of free agency and a buyout, the door remains open for a spot in the regular six-man rotation for Miller.
DeMelo, Josh Morrissey, Neal Pionk, Dylan Samberg, Logan Stanley and Ville Heinola will be MIller's competition, who will hope to find consistent work on the back-end for the next two years in Winnipeg.
